Whom can patients/caregivers contact with questions about the availability of GIST treatment?
The GIST Alliance is committed to providing access to Kit+ GIST medications available from Novartis Oncology to patients who meet financial eligibility requirements. In addition, we provide resources to facilitate the reimbursement process for physicians and their patients.
Through a variety of programs, including the Novartis Patient Assistance Program (PAP) and the Novartis Oncology Reimbursement Hotline, we have made a firm commitment to ensuring that patients get the treatments they need.

The Reimbursement Hotline and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation do not guarantee success in obtaining reimbursement, nor do we submit appeals on behalf of providers or patients. Third-party payment for medical products and services is affected by numerous factors, not all of which can be anticipated or resolved by Reimbursement Hotline staff.
What is the Novartis Patient Assistance Program?
The Novartis Patient Assistance Program (abbreviated and referred to as PAP) provides assistance to US residents who meet eligibility requirements. The eligibility requirements for the Novartis PAP are as follows:
- The patient must be a resident of the United States
- The patient must meet financial eligibility requirements
- The patient has no public or private prescription drug coverage
- An exception process exists for patients who cannot afford their Medicare Part D share

Is co-pay assistance available for GIST patients on therapy?
